Chic picnic baskets with a wide variety of dishes are imaginatively presented on zinc, wood and enamelware. They’re not only a feast for the eyes, but will exceed all your gastronomical expectations.

Each basket consists of enough food for two to four guests, depending on the table layout. They exclude alcoholic beverages, but provision for this can be made. Otherwise, a cash bar is on hand.

Le Pique-nique

The plated food is stylishly garnished with fresh herbs and flowers, and includes* the following:

Droëwors, smoked pork sausages and biltong
(placed on tables as guests arrive)

Salami roll with cream cheese, ham roll with apple sauce sliced silverside,
pickled tongue with olives, and cocktail tomatoes

Samoosas and spring rolls with a spicy olive and atchar dip

Mini vetkoeke stuffed with bobotie mince filling

Chicken drumsticks, beef fillet kebabs, cocktail boerewors,
peri-peri chicken winglets, mini meat balls and pepper ham

Vegetarian quiches

Mini ciabattas with herb and egg filling

Rosemary and onion cocktail buns with fresh farm butter

Rock bread (raisin bread) and pumpkin fritters
with a mayonnaise and herb dip

Devilled eggs with mustard sauce

Homemade fruit juice bolasap (punch)

Salads

Baby potato with mustard, sour cream and spring onion dressing

Corn and peas with Greek yoghurt, garlic chives,
sweet chilli and sunflower seeds

Assorted beans with fresh herbs and celery

A variety of fresh fruit OR watermelon with fresh basil leaves, feta cheese and roasted sesame seeds (depending on seasonal availability)

Dessert

Coffee, tea, koeksisters and mini cakes
(milk tart, cream caramel and apple tart)

Cheese platter

Assorted cheese from our local cheese maker with savoury biscuits,
jam, dry fruits and fresh pears
